Garage sale GOLD!

Several weeks ago while garage salin', I found 8 place settings of china for $25. At another sale I found service for 4 in a complimentary pattern for $10. I bought them all.

I came home and told GS that I wanted to find a china hutch to put in the corner of the kitchen to show off my china.

Guess what I found today??? It only cost me $45!

I thought the best part was that it was only $45, but I think that when GS said, "Wow, it looks pretty good!", that was REALLY the best thing.

So GS...does this mean the "Don't buy any more furniture!" rule is over? ;)

"Do I look geeky in this?"

The title would be G's words after trying on these:

Of course, since the headphones are sound reducing it sounded more like, "DO I LOOK GEEKY IN THESE???"

And here's everyone in headsets. Now to find a plane that holds us all. :D

I've lost my edge.

We've known for some time that Miss M can escape her crib-inside-a-twin-bed-frame contraption we put her to sleep in.

Tonight, she bumped it up a level, by deciding it was WAAAAY more fun to come down to see Mommy and Daddy than fall asleep.

You know she's coming because she laughs the whole way down the stairs. Notice how blurry this picture is and that the flash was off? It's because her laughter's contagious. I *tried* REALLY hard to put on the Grumpy Mommy face, but I just couldn't do it. I was bent over double laughing SO hard at this child.

I managed to eek out a small and apparently convincing Grumpy Mommy face and she gave back this one and tried to convince me that the owie on her foot is what brought her down. She should win an Emmy for this acting job.

I tried to herd her up the stairs, which is hard when you're a)laughing and b)trying to capture this moment w/your camera. She KNEW she was too cute to resist.

Notice the smiles?? She's VERY proud of herself!

Finally I got her back into bed and caught her getting out several more times. Eventually I stopped laughing and gave her the Grumpy Mommy voice. Look at what THAT caused.

Even tho her face LOOKS pititful, you'll be happy to know that she was blinking hard to make her tears fall, saying 'EEHHHHH' yet holding back a grin. So was I.

Talent on loan from God

Tonight's dinner conversation was about how girls are smarter than boys. (I'm just doin' what I can to build their self confidence ya know!). I pointed out that when the DaddyMan was A's age, he had a tutor.

A's response? "What'd he need a tutor for? He has a built in one!"

(seriously, I do NOT make this stuff up....nor encourage her!)

A few minutes later, my so gifted oldest child demonstrated her ability to burp her ABCs. We're so proud to announce that she can do the ENTIRE alphabet in a series of small burps. I commented that I couldn't wait fer the church's talent night so she could perform. :insert eye roll:

A's response? "Hey! Maybe I could burp a Bible verse!"

She then proceded to burp "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13.

We're so proud.

I finished something!

I finally finished this dress I started about a MONTH ago! It came out too big originally and I hate altering. :P Today I finished it! It's still a little big around her skinny chest. Oh well, little sister can wear it next year! LOL

Prayers for a princess

Isn't she pretty? This is Makinley and her mom and I are on a message board together. Makinley had a metabolic disease called Krabbes disease and her life will be cut shorter than we all expected. Please pray for this family as they savor every moment w/their little princess in the months to come.

Here's a link to her Caring Bridge site if you'd like updates and specific prayer requests. http://www.carepages.com/ServeCarePage? cpn=MakinleyMarie&uniq=262959&extrefid=tlcupdate

Need a giggle?

Does this need words?

And not to be outdone by her big sister.....

She's too smart

Tonight there's a pile of eBay clothes on the floor. (Okay, they started on the chair until someone small and precious pushed them to the floor.)

Me: "I don't like it when you step on my clothes. Would you like it if I came to your room and stepped on your Playmobil?"

A: "No. You can step on my clothes tho!"

Brat.

Two is SO fun.

The other day, M was trying to tell me something. My mind was elsewhere and I just wasn't getting what it was that was SO important to her. Exasperated, she got the 'steppy steppy' and demonstrated THIS new skill. I'm SO proud. All she wanted was a Vitamin C.

Here she is at lunch, using a piece of turkey and her teeth to make art. Or a mask. Or something.

That brings us to today. You know how if they're quiet they're up to something? Here's where I found her, happily reading books. And before you worry about her possibly tipping over the antique beast of a dresser...yeah, that's a possiblity, it's not bolted to the wall or anything. But look how proud she is of herself!

You know, you just can't get mad at this face. ;)

Road trip!

We decided to make a quick trip back to God's country, since GS had a job to do there. We stayed at Mr.Scott and Miss Carrie's and played with their troup of 5. My kids LOVE to go visit them and danced w/joy when they found out where we were going.

The girls LOVE the backyard at Scott and Carrie's. They have fun toys...like a zipline which G LOVED!

Here's M and the amazing and Godly woman she's named for. Two peas in a pod they are!

After a busy grubby day playing, you need a bath. Rub a dub dub, the three smallest in the tub!

Here's G the puppy (why are there so many pictures of G you ask? Why I have NO idea--she likes to pose the most? Because A was off playing w/the big kids?? I don't know and just NOW noticed this trend! DOH!)

The really funny thing in this picture? Notice Carrie's hand, keepin' little A modest. ROTFL!!

The other things my girls love, is Amos. Here's M demonstrating just what a good boy Amos is. Wouldn't this be a great picture if only I hadn't whacked off her sister's head in the picture? Oh yeah, that'd be the sister I didn't get any pictures of! Whoops!

Wow! Look at this great picture! M, E, I and big A. What a good picture I caught! Even Amos is looking at the camera! Too bad this isn't all of one family or the other 'cause it's Christmas card material! ;)

A loose tradition at our get togethers is to stuff all 8 kids on the couch and snap a photo. This is ALWAYS an adventure. When they complain about being crowded, I just remind them that they're going to be a LOT more crowded 20 years from now when we make them do this! This time I think I got some ESPECIALLY good pictures. I know I laughed out loud.

One out of 8 looking cute. We're off to a good start!

Aside from the demon possessed looking one on the left and the blinker in the middle, this one's not bad. We're doing better.....

Okay, 4 blinkers in the middle, 4 cute kids and sheesh, who's kid is that with the REALLY big mouth?!?! Oh, right.....that one's mine.....

The look on Z's face in this one.... bwhahahaha!

This one can only be titled: Are We Done Yet? Notice the small one on the right, who's still acting like model material.

And finally, the one where we just give up and tell them to go ahead and make the silly faces they've been DYIN' to make......

Take special notice of H on the left. That girl...she's got talent!

We had so much fun! Thanks for everything!
